“Ariela’s got a sweet lilting tone and knows her way around a heart-tugging folk tune” - Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J

Ariela Jacobs is first and foremost a storyteller, whose songwriting has a way of tackling themes with the sort of intimacy you would expect from a much older soul. With haunting yet powerful vocals, Ariela weaves together a web of folk/pop tapestries.

Growing up in Melbourne, Ariela’s musical journey was very nearly stunted at its earliest conception after she was denied entry to her primary school choir, owing to the unusual tone of her voice. This setback turned out to be a godsend, propelling her into the confines of her bedroom to learn guitar and piano whilst absorbing the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell and Carol King.

Ariela has shared the stage with the likes of Dustin Tebbutt, Ngaiire and Ella Hooper and has enjoyed national radio play from Triple J and FBi radio as well as international recognition from tastemaker blogs such as Indie Shuffle

If you think those soaring, falsetto vocals of Ariela’s sound oddly familiar, it’s  very possible you’ve already heard her distinct topline vocals on the original release of Goldroom’s summer electro hit  ‘Embrace’ as well as Melbourne producer Alius’ new track ‘Nobody Can Hear You’ which recently went viral on the Australian and Canadian Spotify charts.

With a new EP release pencilled in for the 2nd half of 2017, Ariela’s growing fanbase has much to look forward to.
