Forever Son is the project of Melbourne based singer-songwriter and guitarist Jack Robbins. Drawing inspiration from Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Daniel Rossen and Fleet Foxes, Forever Son’s sound is raw and free flowing with a splash of reverb. Tracks imbue dreamy, coffee-fuelled mornings without the restraint of calculated thought. As for Forever Son’s rich, honey-soaked voice, The Band Review describes it as, “somewhere on a spectrum consisting of Jeff Buckley, Donovan and Devendra Banhart”.
Starting out with a 7” split single release with Fraser A. Gorman in 2013, Forever Son soon disappeared back into the world his songs so vividly depict until the release of his self-produced debut EP, ‘Trout Fishing’ in October 2014. ‘Back Table B Sides’, a joint release with Troubadour for Record Store Day in 2015 then followed.
Since the release of single, ‘Rambling Knots’ in October 2015, Forever Son has been busy songwriting for his first long-play, Ten Months. He has also performed in and around Melbourne with a three-piece band at music festivals such as Kennedy’s Creek Music Festival, Anglesea Music Festival, Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, By The Meadow and Brunswick Music Festival as well as supporting artists such as Leah Senior, Jarrow, Jade Imagine, Tom Stephens and Fraser A. Gorman.
