September - December 2017
Harry James Angus, the firebrand trumpet-playing vocalist from The Cat Empire, is known both for his thrilling live performances and for his constant musical re-invention. His dynamo new live project, Struggle With Glory, continues to cross musical boundaries, transporting the classic Greco-Roman myths into a surreal world of old-time jazz and gospel music.
If you like toe-tapping, humming in the aisles, sweating and shouting, but don’t particularly like going to church much, why not try shouting Zeus instead? Revenge, giant beasts in strange lands, the doomed love affairs of Gods and men, and the unstoppable torrent of fate is served up with rich vocal harmonies, barrel-house piano and the unmistakeable sound of Harry James Angus’ old dented trumpet.
Struggle With Glory is a 9-piece band in its full incarnation. For his Parlour tour Harry will be touring with a trio or quartet depending on space available in peoples homes. Hosts and their guests will be treated to a rare acoustic performance of this new show.
