Winner of the West Australian Music Industry (WAMi) award for Best Folk Act of 2016, Lucy Peach has released two EPs: ‘Wax and Wane’ (2011) and ‘Silver Tongue’ (2016).
The music video for Be So Good from her sophomore release has accrued more than 80 000 views on YouTube since September, 2015. These releases and their success have led her to support internationally acclaimed artists The Waifs, Tim Finn, Mama Kin, All Our Exes Live in Texas, Kav Temperley, Ngaiire, Abbe May, Xavier Rudd, Boy and Bear and Tim Rogers.
Pairing her success in music with her experiences while working previously in sexual health, Peach created “My Greatest Period Ever”, which premiered at Perth’s Fringe World Festival in 2017. The show boasted a sell-out season and won the Martin Simms Award, quoted by Fringe World to be “the top prize of the Festival, recognising the best new Western Australian work in the Festival that is destined to succeed on the world's stage.”
Peach is currently working at Rada Studios in Perth on her debut album due for completion in late 2017. The album will feature stories of her familial ancestry; a 16 year old convict named Mary Cannon, her grandmother Elaine Fifield (the first Australian Prima Ballerina in Convent Garden) and songs written under the influence of her menstrual cycle.
