August - October
“Skyscraper Stan Woodhouse is a revelation” – The Sydney Morning Herald
"A towering and compelling figure with an allure that could rival Nick Cave" – Something You Said
"In half an hour, Skyscraper Stan stole the evening, his songs complex and engaging" – 13th Floor
"Last Year’s Tune is a tremendously rewarding listen” – NZ Musician Magazine
“I have an attention quota” says Skyscraper Stan “if I don’t get enough each week I start to atrophy”. Playing upwards of 120 gigs a year Stan is as comfortable on stage as he is behind the wheel of the bombed out Mazda that takes him up and down the east coast like a smoke-spewing yo yo. He calls his music Troubadour Rock ‘n’ Roll; dynamic, disparate and lyrically intricate. The Sydney Morning Herald dubbed him a revelation.
Following the 2015 release of his debut album “Last Year’s Tune” Skyscraper Stan has enjoyed a growing reputation as one of the more exciting songwriters working in Australia today; playing major festivals around the country and sharing stages with Australian legends such as James Reyne, Ian Moss and CW Stoneking.
February and March 2017 will see Stan back out on the road after taking several months off to write and put some meat back on his bones. As a performer Stan is tender, vulgar, verbose, laconic, hilarious, morose, romantic and morbid. These may seem to be contradictory values, but it's all true. You’d have to see it to believe it.
