2017 marks 20 years since Karl Smith and Pete Cohen formed Sodastream in the beachside suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. After moving to Melbourne in 1998, Sodastream toured extensively across Australia, Europe, the UK and the USA. They released four albums, four EPs, and a live album during their original lifespan and were hailed by the likes of BBC’s John Peel, Melody Maker and Pitchfork. Karl and Pete worked with influential labels such as Rough Trade, Darla, Trifekta, Candle, Drive‐in, and Acuarela Discos, and shared the stage with a host of indie heroes including Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Smog, Low, and The Mountain Goats.
After reconvening for a handful of live dates in 2013, the band began working on new material. February 2017 sees the release their fifth studio album entitled Little by Little.
