This Way North are a new guitar and drums two-piece featuring Leisha Jungalwalla (Jungal) and Cat Leahy (Sal Kimber & The Rollin’ Wheel). The live shows are punchy and left of centre but with a universally appealing groove and melody. They have been likened to draw inspiration from bands such as the Black Keys, Tame Impala with some Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs thrown in to make an explosive sound that shouldn’t come from just two people. Audiences are connecting and engaging with our live shows drawn in by the unique musical connection and powerful performances of two seasoned female musicians.
Between them, the duo has played festivals here and internationally including Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival, St Kilda Fest, Robson Valley Festival (CAN), North Country Fair (CAN). This Way North are currently preparing to release two new singles recorded in Toronto this year produced by Derek Downham Canadian (Broken Social Scene and Holy F*ck).
